Find your Passion, Pursue It, Achieve It

Recently, I’ve been watching Casey Neistat’s vlogs. Casey is a filmmaker/ entrepreneur, and makes daily vlogs on Youtube. His videos are very popular. Given that I enjoy watching those types of videos, I decided I would start watching his. His combined use and skill of cinematography and character really gives a uniqueness to his videos. They’re not super long, usually 7 minutes or so, and they keep you interested the whole time, whether it’s cool time-lapse videos, or Casey talking. Watching these videos has really inspired me. One of the main themes Casey illustrates in life is to do what you love, and work super super hard to achieve your goals. To quote, “the thing standing between your dreams and reality, is work”. You have to work hard to achieve your goals. You can sit on your butt all day and dream about what you want in your life, but at some point you’re going to have to work to actually achieve that goal. Whatever those dreams are, you have to work for it. Then, in the end, it will all be so much more fulfilling. I have a lot of dreams. Everyone does. Casey describes the “Tarzan Method” in one of his videos, a visual representation of the path to achieving your goals. You’re Tarzan, and all of your dreams and aspirations are located at the other end of the jungle. To get there, you have to swing from vine to vine, or experience to experience. You don’t know where each vine will take you, but each one will take you a small step forward towards the other end of the jungle. Life’s all about experience, whether good or bad, and it can help shape us and help us determine what we want out of life.

Enjoy your weekend! I know I will 🙂
